Simple brief, great outcome.

The client wanted a raised garden bed constructed from 2nd’s bricks to plant screening plants in to create a more private backyard. SBL Landscape Construction undertook everything from demolition of existing landscape to final clean.

About 6m3 of green waste and excess spoil was removed when initial demo and excavation was completed. Once the area was cleared a footing was dug to accommodate a double skin brick wall, this footing was reinforced with trench mesh to ensure the wall doesn’t move or crack. Once the footing had cured the wall and header course was laid and the team did a great job. When the wall cured it was tanked and drainage installed, all plumbed into the stormwater and once this was completed all there was left to do was to backfill with garden blend, mulch and plant. With consultation with the client we decided onViburnum odoratissimum dense fence as the screening plant while underplanting it with Dichondra silver falls and Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Prostratus’. In the lower tier we alternated between Lavandula Javelin Forte White and Purple with a couple of Dichondra and Rosemary thrown in to tie it in with the rest of the garden bed. I can’t wait to see this once it has matured a bit.

We also did a small bit of paving here to tie it all together and I think the results came out great.
